Our Vision

Throop Unitarian Universalist Congregation
Beloved Multiracial/Multicultural Community
Cast it…
Soul Work is Prophetic Work!
How can we become the “prophetic church,” dismantling systems of privilege and oppression to co-create a multicultural community of Love and Justice?
James Luther Adams wrote: “A church that does not concern itself with the struggle in history for human decency and justice, a church that does not show concern for the shape of things to come, a church that does not attempt to interpret the signs of the times, is not a prophetic church…
•Sacred conversations around valuing difference;
•Thinking and working together to respond to the urgency of becoming a multicultural faith community given our current times;
•Challenging, within the context of covenantal relationship, the unexamined values that guide our congregational life;
•Tools to move us into deeper action along the path of realizing the Beloved Multiracial/Multicultural Community through dismantling systems of privilege and oppression;
•Creating connections that help us remember, especially in times of struggle and in times of joy, this shared work is ours. “We are all in this together.”
